Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. A solid, well-written book. I do wish I had read this book as a young adult about to become sexually active. Easy to follow, interesting and well-structured.... ~ Ramya Jegatheesan (Reviewer), NetGalley

A very informative book, Cool Sex brings a new kind of intimacy to your relationship, full of spirituality and emotions and most importantly relaxation..............Not only did it talk about relaxation tips, but it taught you everything you need to know about your and your partner's bodies, from intimate areas to just regular parts of your body. Consider this a spiritual sex ed class that your school never really taught you about. A very interesting read. If you're looking for something a little out of your normal reading boundaries to read and have an interest in non-fiction and how to better your life, I think maybe you'd enjoy reading this. ~ Aurora Schnarr (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Where the norm regarding human sexuality is heavily influenced by graphic media, hot movie scenes, advertisements, and pornography, it is a one-sided, unbalanced view of sex. Diana Richardson and Wendy Doeleman present in Cool Sex: An essential young adult guide to loving, mindful sex - yes, written for a young adult audience, but applicable for people of all ages - an alternative. The authors explore tantric sex, which was developed over 1,500 years ago in India. Being in the present, mindful if you want to call it that way, focus on the circular energy flowing from and to your body, instead of in it for hot and steamy, quick arousal, and a need to be finished within minutes. Breathing techniques, relaxation exercises first bring a deep connection with your body and your partner's. Whether or not this type of making love ends in intercourse, ejaculation, the instinctive or biological or reproductive target of sex, isn't important anymore. You need to cool down, reduce the heat to enjoy a relaxed and loving sexual play that could last for hours. The booklet contains lots of practical tips, debuted myths around sexuality, and experiences shared by youngsters that practice the approaches Richardson and Doeleman propose. ~ Henk-Jan van der Klis (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Very interesting book filled with concepts that I had never even thought about! Educational, easy to read, and bursting with advice, I enjoyed this book and look forward to implementing some of the suggestions! ~ Tiffany Kohler (Reviewer), NetGalley
This is a new edition of the original book by Doeleman, Coole seks, relaxte liefde, amplified and edited by Richardson, and it comes with new ideas for the most intimate moments humans can share. Why not just say hottest? Because that's when cool comes. This book is not about building up tension and release it in the form of an orgasm, but about going slower to reach an orgasmic state. What I liked the most is that this book is also intended for young adults and teenagers. A 14 years old boy read it according to the first pages and found is very useful, and I'm very inclined to believe it because of how simple and straightforward the writing style is. You won't need any time at all to be done with it once you start it, not to mention there are several interesting ideas about how sex doesn't always need to be hot, wild, and furious. With a calmer approach that may not be as appealing at first sight, the authors talk about how different sex can be when done with a minimal touch, a point of view heavily inspired by tantric sex, which could create a more intimate, powerful, and inspiring experience for the couple. I think Diana Richardson and Wendy Doeleman created a really good book that introduces the reader to another and possibly healthier form of eroticism. Cool Sex: An Essential Young Adult Guide to Loving, Mindful Sex is also apt for teens of any age, making it a unique option when educating the young ones without making it an uncomfortable situation; adults will find it just as useful if you ask me. This book explains a lot of topics related to sex in a way everyone can understand it. Starting explaining about the 'cool sex' and getting on from there, using a simple language. I really like the way it's divided into topics, keeping it short and entertaining. ~ Alejandra Monterroso (Reviewer), NetGalley
I had to go into this book with a very open mind, as this is not a typical practice for me. However, the more I read, the more my interest was piqued. I am curious to try out these new ideas, stemming from deep relaxation as opposed to hot attraction, to help make my marriage even more incredible. ~ Anna Tackett (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. This was a very informative and detailed guide to the practice of cool sex. As a queer woman, I was most interested, as I often am with relationship guides, whether it would be wholly focused on straight cisgender couples or whether LGBT+ individuals would be included. I’m more than happy to report that this covered every scenario and that this would work for any partner combination regardless of sexuality and gender orientation. This also covered relationships in general outside of the bedroom, and did have some helpful advice for young adults getting into their first relationships. I also liked the detailed practices to be done to create that mindful experience in and outside of sex. As this is a guide for the young adult audience, I personally think this should have gone a little more into the basics, but overall this is definitely I guide I’d recommend to anyone interested. ~ Amy Griffiths (Reviewer), NetGalley
................Cool Sex has a unique premise compared to other guides I've read which intrigued me from the beginning. The main ideas behind it are relaxation, awareness and creating a connection. I liked how accessible the book was, with clear subheadings and headings to guide my reading as I explored the concepts. The definitions for key terms were well researched and explained. I was left with a good understanding of the idea of Cool Sex and more importantly achievable practical ideas to put into practice.. ~ Sara Ann Hope (Educator) , NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I found this book very informative. It proposes cool sex, a type of sex in which orgasm isn’t the main focus, but rather a deep connection with your body. It had a lot of interesting points I hadn’t thought about before. The book has several exercises that promote relaxation, and it also touches on topics like sexual health and hygiene, body positivity, empowerment, and more. It also works whether you’re a boy, girl, straight, gay, bi, or anything else in between. If you’re interested in different, less stereotypical ways to view sex, I’d definitely encourage you to pick up this book. ~ Marti Feliciani (Reviewer), NetGalley
This was an interesting read..........An engaging book for anyone who's interested in exploring some more connectable way of getting intimate. ~ Natasha Starr (Media), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Cool Sex, by Diana Richardson and Wendy Doeleman is a refreshing book with everything your parents didn't teach you about sex. The book starts with a test to see what you know about sex and the test is really to show that what we think we know about sex isn't necessarily true for everyone. It's a womderful new take on an old concept. I loved this book, it was insightful, easy to understand, and like I said before refreshing. Really you should read it! ~ Eliza Beth (Reviewer), NetGalley

If you want to create a healthier relationship with sex this is worth reading in order to widen your options. It provides some useful practical exercises as well as different ways to approach certain elements. A real easy read, very engaging and completely non judgmental in any way. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. When discussing sex, conversations can be uncomfortable, awkward, and sometimes may lead to false beliefs and practices. For young adults, "Cool Sex" can be the perfect piece of literature to help with learning more about sex without having to have "the talk". Ten chapters busting myths, sharing truths, and tips about sex. Also, focusing on ways to improve sex between partners of different sexual preferences; making things calmer to last longer in the bedroom. P.S. Love the Kung Fu Panda quote at the end. ~ Natalie Davis (Reviewer), NetGalley
As I was reading 'Cool Sex' I really felt like I could take away something from this book . It discusses love and sex in a positive and fluid way. ~ LizMarie Saintus (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Really great book that's definitely a must read for young adults. It's the kind of book most people won't even know they need, and there were amazing takeaways that are extremely relevant in a world where millennial are under constant scrutiny due to social media culture, impacting everything, including their sex lives. Additionally, this is great for readers of Come As You Are by Emily Nagasaki who want a more mindfulness based approach. ~ Rhea Aurora (Reviewer), NetGalley
Cool Sex is a generous and expert guide to loving and fulfilling sex for young adults. This book arises from decades of Diana’s exploration into the profound relaxation, intimacy and deep pleasure states available through cool sex, and from guiding many thousands of couples and individuals to explore these transformative experiences for themselves. I’m thrilled that in Cool Sex Diana and Wendy are now offering this practical instruction and timeless wisdom to young adults from the beginning of their sexual journey, and in such a clear, warm, inclusive and respectful way. By far the most accessible and practical book on love and sex that I've ever read. As I was reading it, I felt myself changing positively, without even doing anything! Having already experienced the incredible power of mindfulness in so many other ways, I need no convincing that by applying the recommendations here, you'll witness your relationship with sex transform bringing greater pleasure, loving kindness and intimacy.
