Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Loved reading this. Whether or not it is ‘true’ was beside the point. I loved the way of life described, and the prose flowed well. An easy and informing read. ~ Joy Saloschin (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. This book consists of interviews with several people that have past life experiences as Mary Magdalene. This gives us a better picture of her and her life from the age of six. The experiences are very detailed. One interviewer explains Mary’s first marriage including the turbulent relationship with her husband and son. The past life regression details Mary’s work as a leader and teacher among women. As part of her teaching, she talks to women about pregnancy and childbirth and the differences between the births of her son and daughter. She goes into detail about what happened at the crucifixion. I enjoyed the book and loved the subject matter. Sometimes I had a hard time distinguishing the past life and the opinions or input of the interviewer. If you are interested in learning more about Mary Magdalene and have an open mind about past life regression, I recommend this book. ~ Dawn Thomas (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. This has been an interesting view into the sacred feminine and the mystery around Mary Magdalene. It has also helped me understand myself more as I read this book. In a time where the patriarch is crumbling, the rise of the feminine is taking place now. No better time to read this book! ~ Manuela Alonzi-Cheney (Reviewer), NetGalley

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. This is an extra-ordinary book in all senses of the word, as it gives intimate and detailed insights into the life of Mary Magdalene from someone who lived her life in a previous incarnation. Using gentle past-life regression techniques the author has gleaned some amazing details of the lives of both Mary Magdalene and her daughter Sara, by her marriage to Jesus. These real life memories largely tally with the historical facts that we do have about Mary's life. The concept of re-incarnation may prove to be uncomfortable for some as it goes against the current teachings of the Church, however, for many on the planet, it is as natural as night and day. The teachings of the early Church taught that we live many lives and it was only later that this was dismissed. The Magdalene Lineage brings to life some long buried truths about the life and times of Mary, that she was not, in fact, a prostitute, was married to Jesus and had three children and was an influential teacher and healer in her own right. Brought up as a Gnostic, Mary was a follower of The Way, as was Jesus, and they both continued to spread these gentle, loving teachings throughout their lives. Mary and later Sara, taught the Feminine Mysteries, that women's (and men's) bodies are sacred and that by honouring our bodies we discover our own divine purpose. I found this to be a fascinating and very readable book which gives us a much clearer and truthful explanation of Mary's life and the great, but largely hidden, legacy she has left for us even today. It is high time that the truth about her life, lineage and teachings are more widely known so that humanity can benefit from the Ageless Wisdom of the teachings of The Way and the Sacred Feminine - I feel these are even more relevant and beneficial to our lives now in the twenty first century. ~ Jon Jonnson (Educator), NetGalley
Books have been written before about The Divine Feminine, but The Magdalene Lineage - Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries holds a different focus than most, seeking to integrate the spiritual concepts of The Divine Feminine and Sacred Masculine with the traditional religious portrait of Mary Magdalene. Two thousand years of subjugation have virtually buried Mary's real story. Past life regression techniques here combine with research to reconstruct Mary's life from six to sixty, placing it in a broader context of the evolution, representation, and growth of The Divine Feminine in spirituality. No Christian or spirituality reader should be without this analysis, though it should be noted that staid, traditional thinkers who don't accept regression concepts will likely find too many barriers in place to readily consider the ideas of this remarkable survey. And that would be a shame, indeed. The Magdalene Lineage is no casual biography, but a journey that links Biblical lives to God's greater purpose. That Reena Kumarasingham is both a regression therapist and a researcher lends to a blend of academic authority and personal involvement that enriches and enlightens. The Magdalene Lineage focuses on Mary's life through her eyes from before, during, and after her association with Jesus, then follows the lasting impact of her teachings and life through the experiences of Sara, the daughter of Mary Magdalene and Jesus. By tracing the changing presence and nature of the feminine in Christianity, The Magdalene Lineage crafts a journey that blends new age techniques and concepts with traditional Christian knowledge and beliefs to create an expanded history documenting the separation of the Feminine and Masculine. Because this event has resulted in innumerable suffering over the eons, it's important to define, understand, and address on more than one level, if peace and solidarity is ever to be achieved. This makes The Magdalene Lineage a far more important revelation than any traditional analysis or biography could achieve. It's a remarkable, astute analysis of the evolution and lasting impact of the schism between two worlds, tracing significant events in Mary and Sara's lives as it uses the interview form of regression therapy to consider daily lives and broader implications of decisions and choices that create the roots of anguish in today's world. ~ Diane Donovan, Mid West Book Review
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars...................This book deals with past lives and how many of those intersected with Mary's bringing forth her true history. I found this fascinating and recommend you keep an open mind as the author request in the beginning of the book. This is a subject to be taken seriously and with great appreciation of the depth of work of the author. The author interviewed women who believe that previously through their own past lives work they found out that they were part of her story . Through these stories Mary’s role in history and her love for Jesus is truly and truthfully being told and it is fascinating reading. I so appreciate the research the author put into this body of work. I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment, for all who enjoy Biblical history and especially women who are seeking the truth behind Mary's history and her true contributions. ~ Cozy Cat Reviews (Reviewer), NetGalley
One of the big things on my 2020 to to list (before the pandemic) was to re-connect with my spirituality. I was still working on how I wanted that to be when we UK inhabitants went on lockdown & I thought I’d put it on the back burner til later but life often has other plans I was asked to read this book. I’m not a dramatic person to start announcing that books have changed my life but I have finished this with a new to-read list and a desire to learn more. I’m familiar with regression and have experienced it (as has my mother) with interesting results but growing up in an atheist parental household with spiritual rather than religious grandparents my upbringing didn’t give me much on the divine although I have picked up on Mary & Jesus being married and having descendants at some point. I found the Gnostic side of this fascinating and it did resonate hence the new book list. The conclusion of the book gives a good oversight of the regression process and also answers a few questions for those who may be skeptics. I really enjoyed the stories of Tamar & her teachings. The book touches on her possibly being autistic or on the spectrum. As a mother of an autistic male this drew me to her. I would have actually like d more of her story. Maybe in a further book? I also enjoyed the exploration of female sexuality & the patriarchy, something as relevant today as then. So much for me to take from it and easy to understand so full marks from me. ~ For the love of Books!!, Review
Mary Magdalene is a Much maligned and vilified character through the years with many painting her as a fallen woman and basically just a bi-line in the story of Jesus. Using past life regression the author of this book has interviewed women who believe that previously they were part of her story and are now telling their truth about Mary’s role in history and her love for Jesus and the family they created. What ever your religious views, if you have any this is a fascinating book and left me with lots of questions but has also opened my mind to other possibilities of the story. It’s an insightful and interesting read to anyone regardless of their views just approach it with an open mind. ~ Lindsay Adams-Riley (Reviewer), NetGalley
This book contained ideas about a subject I had never researched and thus was different to me. However, I followed author Reena Kumarasingham’s request to “…have an open heart and mind (and) put preconceived notions on the back burner and decide for yourself.” In the book description, I didn’t realize the meaning of regression in the context of the book, and was not familiar with Sophianic Gnostic traditions. The book will tell a story about Mary Magdalene (one I had not heard before) and if one is not familiar with Sophianic Gnostic traditions, you will gain knowledge through the author’s words. These are new concepts for me, and open mind or not, when you teach me something new, I am going to examine that material to see if it makes sense and can stand up to scrutiny. The secrecy of the identity of the people involved raises questions and caused me to question the veracity of the book. Ms. Kumarasingham has arranged the book in a great manner for teaching, introducing a segment of the regression (told by a person who has discovered that she was Mary Magdalene in a past life) and then supporting that segment with the author’s knowledge. The support, however, always centered primarily on her book and one other, or we are asked to accept everything based on oral traditions. Basically, to accept the vast majority of what is in the book, one must accept those beliefs on faith alone. My purpose was to write this review with great respect for those who follow these teachings while explaining my issues with the book so those not interested could move on to other subjects. Anyone who is a follower of these teachings will enjoy this book, and it did serve as a solid introduction for me to understand what they believe, and because of this presentation, I can also recommend the book to those who are curious. Having finished the book, I will probably not investigate this subject further but, because of the excellent layout of the information the author is presenting, I feel this book is worth four stars. ~ Dee Arr (Reviewer) , NetGalley
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. I was quite drawn to this book, because as a meditator, I have regressed myself to visions of my own past lives. This book just felt right even before I started reading it. While reading, I would instantly go into a semi-meditative state as a reaction to the truth I was feeling. Within these accounts of two women who, guided by the author, regressed into visions of having lived Mary Magdalene and her daughter Tamar (Sara)'s lives, there is beauty, truth and freedom to be found. For those unfamiliar with Gnosticism, the book is a good starting point that goes more in depth as the book progresses. Mary Magdalene, along with Jesus, taught The Way. She taught the women and children, and eventually, in some of her travels later in life, many men as well. They were sacred partners in their Great Work. Near the end, the author asks how more than one person can have past life memories of having been the same person. Her answer is Jungian in that she talks about the collective unconscious, which everyone can tap into. I have a different experience of it and know several people who feel the same. People are composed of parts of past lives, which God puts together each time a person incarnates, to create that new person. This is so we can sense and hopefully find our soul family in each new incarnation; the people we are meant to be with to accomplish the things we incarnated for. So Jung was close, but it is not quite that people can just tap into anything and that means it is a part of their own experience. Only into what is necessary. Beyond that, as living beings, we are also all interconnected in a more basic loving way. This is different from other books on Mary Magdalene, because rather than being simply a scholarly work, or the actual Gospel According to Mary Magdalene, it is a spiritual one which teaches the basics of Gnosticism through past life regressions. It is not fiction. But it is the sort of everyday magic that we can all bring into our lives. ~ Rose Night (Media) , NetGalley

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. The Magdalene Lineage by Reena Kumarasingham taught me so much about Regression Therapy and Biblical History. Reena describes how each person experienced their experiences and how they are connected. This book was definitely a huge undertaking that spanned many years. The way she explains each session and it's historical significance is amazing! I plan to refer back to the book to keep learning and create discussions about biblical history and research. ~ Joanne Cassar (Reviewer), NetGalley

5 Stars The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries is a work of non-fiction focused on new age concepts such as spirituality, religious history and the nature of the divine, and was penned by author Reena Kumarasingham. The book uses the technique of regression therapy, in which the author is trained, to recount the spiritual lineage of the follower of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and un-bury her from the mystique that history has laid upon her. In the author’s own expressions, we discover Mary in all her familial roles as a woman, but also as herself in her deepest heart, and the stories which inspire us to look to her as a kind of spiritual teacher. Everyone expresses their spirituality in different ways, and I feel that both Christians and non-Christians can come to this book about Mary Magdalene with an open mind to consider the teachings that are proposed by it. Central mantras of putting good out into the world, and trusting in faith and belief, are well expressed through author Reena Kumarasingham, whose prose is filled with inspirational lexis and well-chosen expressions. The arrangement of the book itself gives a good progression and explains a little about the process of actually accessing the idea of past lives through regression therapy. For readers who are especially interested in this concept, Reena Kumarasingham writes with confidence and motivation about her craft. Overall, The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries presents an interesting and uplifting perspective which is well worth exploring. ~ K.C. 5 Stars For those who want to explore feminine spirituality and past life revelations, this book will certainly fascinate and inform you. The life of Mary Magdalene has been enveloped in mystery for two thousand years; sometimes vilified and other times honored for her role in the earliest days of Christianity. Through past life regressions conducted by the author, Mary Magdalene’s life is revealed. As a child, she had healing powers and knowledge beyond her years. Her adult years, including marriage and children, enduring joys and sorrows, and teaching other women spiritual truths, are intriguing. The author also worked with a second woman, who had a past life as Tamar, Mary’s daughter. The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries, written by renowned regression therapist Reena Kumarasingham, is a must-read for anyone who wants to learn about this legendary woman and her teachings. One of the most poignant aspects of this book is the author’s thoughtful comparisons to other sources of information about Mary Magdalene and Tamar. She carefully portrayed the historical era, including the cultural and political climate. Her description of the Essenes matches other texts describing the beliefs and works of this group. She also adds the reasons why certain sects and the early Christian Church portrayed Mary Magdalene in derogatory terms, rather than as the spiritual teacher and healer she was. Although the book contains much historical data, it is easily read and understood by any curious reader. Author Reena Kumarasingham has written a well-crafted and intriguing text in The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries. A wonderful book! ~ Deborah Lloyd, Readers’ Favorite Reviews
5 Stars Insightful, thoughtful, and filled with spiritual depth, The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries by Reena Kumarasingham takes a unique look at the life of one of the controversial characters in the gospels, Mary Magdalene, and explores the depth of her spirituality. The author takes readers on a spiritual odyssey and explores hidden gems of spirituality that looks at the role of women in the union with God. There is a lot to learn from Mary Magdalene as readers explore her life from the age of six, going through her arranged marriage, her break-away from an abusive marriage and her relationship with Jesus. The narrative moves on to present the conception of the child of Jesus and Mary. The narrative covers the events during and after the crucifixion, Mary Magdalene's adventures and the life of Sara, Mary Magdalene's daughter with Jesus. This is a daring book; it is full of research and a powerful answer to some of the questions that Christians don’t even have the courage to ask. In this book, the author explores the life of one woman in the Bible and her relationship with Jesus, but she also goes on to examine the truths and stories that the Bible doesn’t allow us to see. Mary Magdalene is presented as a human being in her strengths and vulnerabilities and as an icon of feminine spirituality. Reena’s work makes me question everything I have learned about the Bible and encourages a dialogue that has been suppressed over the years by religious fanaticism and dogma. The Magdalene Lineage: Past Life Journeys into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries is a powerful call to Christian readers and a book that sustains the idea that there is far more to the Christian narrative than what is in the Scriptures. A very inspiring and eye-opening book. ~ Christina Sia, Reader's Favourite Reviews
