Who am I? I wondered that too, so I asked a dear friend, "what do you see when you look at me?" This was her answer ...
• Someone who breaks the rules
• Doesn’t take fools gladly
• Doesn’t want to conform
• Good judge of character
• If she’s your friend, she won’t let you down and will go that extra mile for you
Thank you, Anne, I feel I can live up to all of those.

So I'm a quirky, off the wall, laid back, wild woman, Awenydd (British word for shaman) and Crazy Cat Lady. I was born on Dartmoor into a family who practiced the old British magic for many generations, I grew up on Exmoor in a village full of more old ways practitioners. I have an intensely strong connection with nature, am a wilderness woman, deeply into ecology, the environment, habitat and species extinctions.
I’ve written all my life, and professionally for the Moon Books imprint of John Hunt Publishing since 2011, and currently have 9 published books, 3 of which are best-sellers. Moon Books also published my second novel, Moon Song. I write on British native shamanism, as well as speculative, magical realism, mystery-suspense novels.

Before taking up my writing career, I spent 20 years in corporate, working for the Ministry of Defence as systems analyst and project manager writing relational databases. In 1992 I left the MOD when I was crippled with rheumatoid arthritis to become a transpersonal psychologist; I still run my own practice, it twines perfectly with my awenydd work both for teaching and for personal 121 consultations.

I teach the old ways of British native shamanism through my 1 year apprentice-level GET CONNECTED course and my 3 year advanced course RAINBOW WARRIORS. For more, see my website, and my books also give you a good introduction to this.

Back in the day, I danced for Arlene Philips, hitched a ride in a jet fighter-trainer, and was kissed by Mick Jagger. I now live – with my black witchy cat, mad scientist husband, and a host of wildlife – in the back of beyond, in the beautiful Stretton Hills of Shropshire.
