Energy (qigong, reiki, polarity), Reference
Set to fundamentally reshape the way that we think about Reiki as a healing method, this book is a must read for anyone seriously interested in this unique path to self perfection and liberation. In the tradition of Reiki Jin Kei Do the emphasis of practice is on leading the student to a realization of their oneness and ultimate reunification with all-that-is. For the first time, all of the extant knowledge on the history of Reikis key figures in pulled together. From Mikao Usuis enlightenment experience whilst practicing the Buddho meditation on Mt Kurama to the journey of the enigmatic Zen monk, Seiji Takamori high into the Himalayas of Nepal in search of Reikis origins. Reiki Jin Kei Do (the way of compassion and wisdom through Reiki) contains the secret Indian/Tibetan teachings that Takamori received from the recluse monks with whom he studied. These teachings were passed on as the system now known as Buddho-EnerSense.

I just read Reiki Jin Kei Do by Steve Gooch and I love it! After 17 years of teaching Reiki, I'm finally recommending a Reiki book to all of my students (shocking for those who know me). It is a good book with a good history of Usui and in-depth information about the Principles of RJKD and Buddho-EnerSense. Steve is a very down to earth Reiki Master and I have great respect for him. The book gives "seekers" a practical guide to the essence of this lineage. ~ Patricia Warren, RJKD Master
Revealing the Vajrayana and Tantric Buddhist origins of Reiki for the first time, this book will broaden the way you view Reiki, explaining it not simply as a healing system, but as a way of self-prefection and liberation which did not suddenly appear in the 19th century, but has a far older lineage. ~ , Cygnus Books
An introduction to the history and practice of Reiki, the book gives a thorough overview, including the philosophy, guiding principles and sections on meditation, energy, symbols and therapeutics. There is also a bibliography and an international contact directory of masters in this particular tradition. ~ , Network Review
This very interesting and informative new book is a must have for anyone not only interested or involved in Reiki but also those who work with or have an interest in energy, meditation and Buddhist philosophy. ~ , AltMedZine
I was very impresssed by this book, which has clearly been very well researched, and would very much recommend it to those who feel drawn to read more about Reiki. What I liked so much about it was the emphasis Steve Gooch put on the goals of Reiki. He dwells not just on the therapeutic aspects, but quite rightly emphasises that wisdom and compassion are the true goals of practising reiki which will lead us to freedom from attachment, desire and suffering. It is well thought out, well executed and most important of all, easy to understand. ~ , Positive Health
Steve Gooch offers a clear and concise understanding of the practice of Reiki, whilst illustrating the essential teachings of Reiki Jin Kei Do. This book is not only an engaging read, it also explains the Reiki symbols, Jin Kei Do meditations and methods for treating oneself and others. Whether you are new to Reiki or a seasoned practitioner, Reiki Jin Kei Do will be of tremendous benefit to anyone interested in this unique and wholesome style of Reiki. ~ Lawrence Ellyard, Author of Reiki Healer, The Reiki Guide and Founder of the International Institute for Reiki Training.
A detailed, clear and fascinating insight into the world of Reiki. Excellent for beginners and particularly relevant to experienced practitioners looking to expand their understanding and experience of Reiki. ~ David Vennells, Author of Reiki Mastery and Reiki for Beginners
Steve Gooch has done an excellent job in presenting to the public the world's first book on the deeply profound and beautiful teachings that were given to me by Seiji Takamori. In doing so he has become the spokesperson for the whole lineage. I am sure that many current and future students of Reiki Jin Kei Do as well as the wider public and practitioners of other Reiki traditions will gain immense benefits from this book. It will fundamentally change your views on Reiki as a healing system. I recommend it highly to all. ~ Dr Ranga Premaratna PhD, Lineage Head of Reiki Jin Kei Do
