Terence Watts
Terence Watts' acutely uncomfortable early years resulted in him becoming introspective and insular. As he entered his teens, it seemed to him that the world was a rather cold and grey place until therapy set him free from what was, effectively, a prison. It was only then that he realised he had suffered years of chronic anxiety and depression which had blighted his life and relationships.
He had had what is best described as an eclectic career life until then - it included electronic engineer, fire extinguisher salesman, ballroom dance teacher and computer programmer - but now he concentrated on becoming a therapist... And the world was abruptly a magical place! He was pretty much an instant success with his clients and his peers and was instantly besotted with the idea of finding out what makes people really ‘tick’. His research covered all aspects of personality and all types of people and soon established over and again that the same issues about self and relationships seemed to affect so many people. It was an eye-opener and he resolved to find effective ways of dealing with, and alleviating, the worries and anxieties that affect so many people.
Terence is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Freeman of the City of London, and therapist. He is the only psychotherapist worldwide to have been awarded the ‘MCGI’ by the City & Guilds Institute of London, UK. He lives in Essex, UK.
