Predicated on the immemorial core or "first" principles of the universal perennial philosophy, which finds expression from Lao Tzu to Ramana Maharshi in the East and from Pythagoras to René Guénon and Ananda K. Coomaraswamy in the West, The Higher Spiritual Path details how those on the higher spiritual path must address and master its requirements. This book is as practical as it is philosophical -- or theosophical -- since it is based on the specifics of “sacred science,” or spiritual science, an inextricable component of the perennial philosophy. Many of the requirements of the higher spiritual path are based on the truths of this ancient spiritual science, formulated over millennia by jivanmukti, or liberated beings, who serve as the teachers of those currently engaged in treading this hieratic path. The goals of ascending this path are the loftiest; the hierarchical order of its spiritual teachers is the holiest; and the totality of its evolutionary and compassionate purpose is the most sacred.

The book consists of philosophical essays on spirituality, exploring the spiritual path and its goals. While providing a good introduction to the background and history, some may find it dry compared to other books on the subject. It is an informative read for anyone who wants to expand the knowledge of exploring a spiritual path ~ Sarah-jane Ward (Reviewer), Netgalley
Well, I can say that I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself engrossed within its given prose from nearly the very off, for the book is a heartfelt, nay diligently impassioned rundown of how the archetypal masculine path of ascent and discipline guides us forward; whilst at the same time, at times, holds us back from true inner growth if we allow it to. That said, it is obviously more focused upon that aforementioned path, providing the necessary steps and key principles (such as reincarnation, karma and, amongst a host of other things, death and its aftermath), but it the raft of esoteric sources that combine to bring forth the practical seeker enough comforting, and expertly culled guidance and wisdom to divine a path of their very own. A book of true practical exploration, these 12 essays on ascending the “higher spiritual path” toward liberation from the wheel of rebirth provide bona fide information about how to approach and overcome the challenges of this momentous ascent. A must-read for anyone, even the slightest bit curious, of that you have my word. ~ Exclusive Magazine, Review
As the title suggests, this book dedicated to the few elaborates the archetypally masculine path of ascent and discipline. It explains the necessary steps and key principles, including purification, reincarnation, karma, expanded use of will, death and its aftermath. It draws on many esoteric sources, providing a good deal of practical guidance for the spiritual seeker on the wisdom path. ~ David Lorimer, Paradigm Explorer Scientific and Medical Network
