Paths Between Head and Heart
Science and spirituality are not enemies. They are partners in the quest for a truth that is greater than either one can understand alone.

Paths Between Head and Heart provides an accessible but comprehensive account of how science and spirituality relate, not as enemies, but as partners in the quest for a truth that is greater than either one can understand alone. While many books have been written on science and religion, not many have looked at how spirituality and science exist as complementary parts of a larger whole, and how they relate specifically to the transitional challenges that define our era.

Paths Between Head and Heart: Exploring the Harmonics of Science and Spirituality by Oliver Robinson engages the reader in becoming receptive to the correlations between the factual and provable world of science and the still indefinable and often immeasurable world of spirituality. The whole of which is a rather large undertaking to be written by a working scientist.......I am curious about what has been the motivation for a scientist to pursue and explore the more esoteric philosophies and ultimately write a book about these topics. And, I have read many books where the information has been sterile and wholly based on detached analysis of what has been gathered for research purposes. Robinson’s offering is clearly not one of those books...... ........Paths Between Head and Heart: Exploring the Harmonies of Science and Spirituality is a book I recommend that one return to regularly. It has been skillfully written to stimulate within the reader the sense of awe and wonder that all great scientific discoveries have benefited from as the catalyst towards revealing their workings. And, it provides the spark of intuitive inquiry within the spiritual practitioner who yearns to peek behind the veil of the intangible and bring into manifestation a vision of the mystery of a reality informed by head and heart. https://www.spiralnature.com/reviews/paths-between-head-and-heart-robinson/ ~ Robin Fennelly, Spiral Nature Magazine
“A great work of synthesis and analysis that reads as if it is the product of whole life time of research and contemplation. It’s rare to find an intellectual with such deep knowledge of both science and spirituality, and with the insight to see how closely they are interlinked and how perfectly they complement each other.” Steve Taylor PhD, author of The Leap and Spiritual Science. ~ Steve Taylor
Brilliant, wide-ranging and engaging. The book is a significant and accessible contribution towards harmonising science and spirituality, head and heart, and as such points towards wholeness and integration as a further necessary step in our evolution. I hope it will be widely read. ~ David Lorimer, Paradigm Explorer
As we stand at the brink of a momentous occurrence, the alignment of science and spirituality, there are few credible studies of this phenomenon. Paths between Head and Heart by Oliver Robinson provides a crucial study of the split between science and spirituality and how in fact, there is a relationship and continuum between the two. This book is an essential tool for bridging concepts in this field, even providing a way in for the sceptical who will be able to find their place in the holistic model Robinson provides. ~ Dr Manjir Samanta-Laughton, author of Punk Science and The Genius Groove
This book explains the paradox of the unity of science and spirituality. Oliver Robinson shows that these two ways of looking at the world, so often seen as opposing forces, actually come from the same source, and we need to hold them in balance. Fascinating. ~ Jennifer Kavanagh, author of The World is Our Cloister
This book plays a vital role in building a bridge between science and spirituality, demonstrating that they are natural partners in the evolution of our understanding of the universe and providing a comprehensive account of attempts to synthesise them. I particularly commend its dialectical structure, which puts the topic in a broader context than usual. ~ Bernard Carr, Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London
The relationship between science and spirituality is a key issue in our time. In this brilliant, wide-ranging and engaging book, Oliver Robinson gives us a fresh take on this interface, proposing an informative new model of complementary adapted to our age of inter-connectedness. He also shows how we can integrate theory and experience, head and heart in our own lives. This is a stimulating and significant contribution to the field, which deserves to be widely read. ~ David Lorimer, Programme Director, Scientific and Medical Network, author of Whole in One
Oliver Robinson is a rare combination of academic rigour and courageous spirituality. We desperately need a spirituality that has a heart but doesn’t require a brain bypass. This excellent book gives us a map ~ Jules Evans, author of Philosophy for Life
A wide ranging and thoroughly stimulating book that boldly balances the metaphysical with the physical, and elucidates why both are vital together. As the great chemist Albert Hofmann was fond of saying, a scientist who is not a mystic is no scientist. The same goes the other way around too as Oliver Robinson ably shows us. ~ Dr David Luke, author of Otherworlds: Psychedelics and Exceptional Human Experience
Oliver Robinson is an exceptionally perceptive observer of spirituality and its practices, in an age that routinely lacks insight about such matters. He is alert to both philosophical and psychological dimensions, and can bring them together. This is a book that you cannot fail to read without feeling illuminated, provoked and inspired. ~ Dr Mark Vernon, author of 42: Deep Thought on Life, The Universe and Everything, and After Atheism: Science, Religion and the Meaning of Life
