And She Lived Happily Ever After is an inspirational and motivational book for women, reminding them that they are in charge of their happy-ever-afterness and that they don’t have to adhere to societal rules and regulations if they don’t wish to. Inside these pages, Deborah Durbin covers more than thirty life tips and reminders, including building your own world profile, why it’s important to wait 24 hours before reacting, why it’s so important to surround yourself with radiators and not drains, and many more life lessons Durbin has learned over the years. These lessons are short and to the point and written in a style whereby the reader can dip in and out for a life lesson when it suits them.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It made me stop and think about how I behave around other people and made me realise that I can use my voice, and that I should use my voice! Having grown up in environment where I was taught to “respect my elders” and “believe what the posh people say because they know better,” I have learned through experience that this is far from the truth. I do know what is best for me in many situations, and now I trust my own judgement rather than blindly following other people. I recommend this book to any woman who needs a confidence boost, who needs to reinforce her self-worth, and who needs to confidently take up space for herself in a world dominated by men. A compendium of informative, insightful, thoughtful and thought-provoking life examples and commentaries for women having to deal with the social expectations, limitations, and vulnerabilities that all women have had to deal with throughout their lives, "And She Lived Happily Ever After: Because every woman deserves a happy ever after!" is especially recommended for personal, professional, community, and academic library Self-Help/Self-Improvement collections for women. It should be noted for the personal reading lists of those with an interest in Women's Health, Spiritual Healing, and personal transformation. ~ Midwest Book Review, Review
The result of years of Durbin observing people, questioning societal rules and generally ranting about a lot of stuff she feels is unfair for women, And She Lived Happily Ever After’s various short chapters include such titles as Why We Should Wait 24 Hours, Radiators and Drains, Judging and Jumping, None of us is Immortal ..., Always Be Curious ..., permit Yourself to be Happy ..., Forgive, But Don’t Forget, Act As If, Build Your Tribe, (Don’t) Act Your Age, and amongst others, both You Are Enough and Thank You! Created also as a huge thank you to all the brave and inspiring women who have stood up and said, Nah, I’m not having that! But just a few pages in, this male reviewer quickly realized that just because it is aimed towards women doesn’t mean that men cannot glean from its veritable treasure trove of wisdom! In closing, and as much as it only takes one voice to create changes and enable women to live their happy ever after, Durbin hopes that by writing the book, every woman will realize that she has every right to be heard. She has every right to ask questions. She has every right to be seen as equal, and she has every right to, as aforementioned, live (and love) happily ever after. ~ Exclusive Magazine, Review
Durbin brilliantly answers questions I never knew I had. This is a guide to life everyone needs to read to have their very own Happily Ever After. Her experience speaks for itself and makes the book funny, straight-forward and empowering. ~ Rosalind Moody, Editor of Soul & Spirit
