Sound has been used for thousands of years to help improve health and wellbeing. Sounding the Mind of God aims to bring the worlds of science and spirituality together to demonstrate how sound can be used for helping to improve health and wellbeing and for personal transformation. The book is in two parts - Part 1 focuses on helping the reader to align to the universal energy source and how their system interacts with this on all levels of being. Once we know how we respond to our outside world we are able to put ourselves firmly in the driving seat of our lives, our health and our general wellbeing. When we are living in resonance with the universal flow, we are able to accomplish anything. Part 1 contains exercises designed to raise your awareness, such as radiators and drains which helps you identify areas in your life that feed your energy and those that do not. Part 2 contains a wealth of information on how to use sound to help improve health and wellbeing as well as breath, movement and visualisation. A range of simple and fun exercises which include the use of the voice, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, drums and percussion are included in this section. If you are in need of a quick pick-me-up, try the sonic caffeine exercises - or if you need a stress buster, how about some sonic hot chocolate? The exercises in the book range from quick and easy remedies to sonic immersions where you can indulge in a relaxing sound session. Many of the techniques in this book have produced life-changing results with people making recoveries from long-term and sometimes chronic illnesses. As well as potential health benefits, there are exercises that allow for a greater depth of relaxation to occur. There are also exercises to help promote clarity, focus, confidence and self-esteem. Some people report being able to make decisions more easily as well as seeing their path ahead more clearly. The proof is in the using - sound really works!

"I worked with Lyz on a PR/social media campaign for Radox, my client at the time. It was all about creating the most relaxing piece of music ever and Lyz played a huge part in the campaign from start to finish, as a consultant and spokesperson. She is a very compelling expert on the subject of therapeutic sound. Having her input on the track made it into something really special that captured the public's attention and was covered by many national newspapers, TV and radio stations. Lyz was a fantastic media spokesperson; she didn't need any media training and gave numerous fascinating, personable interviews while managing to convey just the right level of branding. She managed to talk about sound therapy without making it sound 'new age', instead putting it in the context of science and music, which really added weight to the message. Lyz was a joy to work with throughout the project. She was always available to talk and help with our questions and concerns, she is creative and helped us to get around problems and she was always willing to participate in interviews, whether in person, on the phone or on email. She is a great writer too and all her written contributions were very well done and needed no editing. She was able to find sound therapy case studies for us among her clients at very short notice. Lyz is a very intelligent, diligent and kind person and I would definitely recommend working with her on commercial and media campaigns." ~ Hannah Morgan, Mischief PR

This book is a useful tool in many ways, using sound and the altered states that it induces to tap into ‘ultimate regeneration’, healing and harmony, as well as the proactive use of sound in developing and honing tendencies for precognition and psychic development. On the whole a refreshing and instructive book, which although not long, packs a punch without resorting to soundbites. ~ Jess Baxter, The Druid Network

Lyz Cooper has produced in Sounding The Mind of God a very comprehensive guide to the ever burgeoning field of sound therapy. This book is as much about our psychology as it is about working therapeutically with harmonious sound sources - the voice and its overtones, Himalayan and crystal bowls and various drums. Unlike so many books on the subject, its great asset is in Cooper’s analyses of the human condition and her pointed references to leading figures in psychology and the new physics. Her book addresses the real issues that matter in altering our consciousness for the better, aligning it to God and thus goes beyond the physical body. In Part 2 we are given very practical approaches for healing using various sound media. Particularly good and welcome are a large set of fascinating exercises to put her concepts into practice, including listening in a sacred way, a topic very often overlooked in books on the subject. Thus theory and practice are finely balanced and Cooper’s writing style is matter of fact and quite personable. Always important, she provides the reader with a wealth of resources that complement her ideas. Lyz Cooper has been a pioneer in the development of sound therapy in the UK and it is significant that she has shared her knowledge with a wide audience. The highest levels of using pure vibration for healing are aimed exactly at sounding the mind of God. Cooper has beautifully shown the ways of achieving that sound union. Undoubtedly her book will become one of the basic texts for future sound healers. ~ James D'Angelo, PhD. Author of several sound healing books including Healing with the Voice
