A poignantly compelling spiritual memoir about the strong and unusual bond forged between schoolteacher Jes and a six-year-old autistic boy, Asher, whose arrival in her class changed the trajectories of both their lives.
While Jes taught Asher to communicate by speaking, Asher taught Jes telepathy, his first language. Their journey together, sometimes tragic, sometimes joyful, spans 25 years and leads them into an exploration of psychic and supernatural abilities.
Once Jes has mastered telepathic communication, Asher, freed from the limitation of using words to communicate, can share with Jes his astonishing wisdom and information, derived from what he terms The Realms, a spiritual dimension beyond time and space. Together they discuss such topics as creation, the afterlife, and the potential role of neurodivergent thinkers in expanding human experience, as well as contributing to the latest debates about consciousness as a universal field, in which we all participate.
A Mind Beyond Words will speak both to spiritual seekers and to many who live with autistic or neurodivergent perceptions.

A Mind Beyond Words is an extremely worthwhile book because it's inspirational around human potential, it tells us all sorts of information about the greater reality beyond our material realm, and finally, it is encouraging for people who are autistic or are close to someone who is. ~ Watkins Magazine/ Summer 2024, Issue 78, Review
To me, this was a most fascinating memoir. Not only because the author, Jes Kerzen is a rather fantastic storyteller (although she most assuredly is), but moreover each carefully crafted, wholly impassioned page gives the reader yet another exciting, eye-opening, and decidedly authentic glimpse into Asher’s extrasensory gifts. Having only just finished the book this after, I felt compelled to write this review whilst it was all still fresh in my mind, for it is well worth noting that I actually read the entirety of A Mind Beyond Words in just three sittings. Jes’s experiences with her amazing student turned teacher, Asher, are both amazing and heartwarming, and as much as it might well have the knock on effect of becoming alluring to all curious seekers open to new ideas, it mainly has the ability to become a genuine eye-opener to all of us who know children/adults suffering from Autism. As for the plot itself, well, Jes, a schoolteacher, is shocked when she meets Asher, a young student on the autism spectrum. Asher recognizes something in Jes. After testing her, Asher begins to unveil his unique, advanced perceptual reality, including telepathic abilities, and so much more. In closing, throughout this tenderly impassioned book, Jes’s sincerest of love and devotional commitment to Asher rings genuine at all times, and allows us to follow along on their many adventures, and over many years, as he continued to break down her barriers and educate her; unfolding secrets that continued to broaden her then, and subsequently current understanding of reality. ~ Anne Carlini - Exclusive Magazine, https://annecarlini.com/ex_books.php?id=650
I hope that A MIND BEYOND WORDS by Jes Kerzen is widely read, knowing that it's out there for many readers who want to push the boundaries of what we believe to be reality to a far wider, wilder, and more fascinating place. When teacher Jen Kerzen encounters and gets to know Asher, a student designated to be on the autism spectrum, she is drawn into a world she never dreamed possible, of telepathy and wonders beyond the typical expectations of a neurodiverse classroom, never mind fitting into our culture and definitions of reality. I deeply enjoyed having my expectations blown by the incredible bond the pair developed and still live to this day, as well as how a supposedly deficient person is familiar with and expert in realms no one dreamed possible. Written in a conversational style, Kerzen brings the reader along in an ultimately mind-blowing experience with a child leading the way. This book follows the journey of Jes Kerzen, a teacher working with neurotypical children, and her special relationship with her pupil, Asher. Asher teaches Kerzen about telepathy and communication beyond the physical world. The book explores unconventional ideas like pre-birth contracts and quantum physics, as well as Asher's struggles with communication and his later diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. The evolving relationship between Asher and Kerzen goes beyond the classroom, delving into adventures and experiments with telepathy. ~ , Netgalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Interesting read! While this wasn't what I expected, it was an interesting read. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. ~ Sara Bevilacqua (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. This book describes how the writer, Jes Kerzen, came to find herself in a classroom working with small groups of neurodiverse children. The focus, however, is not really on her work as a teacher, but rather about the special relationship that evolves between herself and one of her pupils, Asher. Asher does struggle with written and verbal communication as well as making sense of the world but this is not the main focus of the novel. For Asher in fact becomes the one to teach the teacher about telepathy and how to communicate using telepathy, transferring and sharing other kinds of information.....This is definitely worth reading if there is any desire to explore the possibility that there may be more to philosophy than can be imagined. ~ Lynda Stevens (Reviewer), NetGalley
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. What an intriguing and delightful read is Jes Kerzen’s book, A Mind Beyond Words. The book relates the authors unique connection and experiences with a student on the autism spectrum, whose rare perception of the world draws her to into unexpected and exciting methods of communication and thought-provoking revelations about life. The author’s style and voice is uncomplicated and engaging, and offers an unpretentious look into a remarkable series of events which led her to an extraordinary ability to communicate telepathically. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and was enthralled by the information it conveyed. The ideas and theories proposed by the information in the book are provocative but appealing and have provided compelling and rich material on which to ponder going forward. ~ Josie Smith (Reviewer), NetGalley
I loved diving into this book. Jes Kerzen's journey to connect and communicate with Asher is a compelling reminder of all we don't know about the mind, the universe, and how human beings work... there are so many mysteries left to unfold! Moving through this story made me want to work on my intuition and non-verbal communication skills. Very thought-provoking! 5/5 ~ Marissa Fitzgerald (Reviewer), Netgalley

Every so often one is struck by a remarkable book which halts one’s world, which demands that reality be looked at in a different way, a more purposeful and meaningful way, a way in which a missing piece in the puzzle of existence can be provided. A Mind Beyond Words is such a book, offering as it does an extraordinary insight into the untapped potential of human consciousness and the timeless realm of the spirit – a veritable salute from the akashic field.
