The extraordinary travels of a young, alone and broke psychic.
The heart-warming and adventurous true story of a young woman on her own at age seventeen, broke and surrounded by talkative spirits that don’t want to go away. Living in-between the physical world and the spirit realm, yet feeling a stranger in both, Sherrie Dillard criss-crossed the country by bus, train and hitchhiking in a search for answers.
Along the way she was led to help the poor and homeless on skid row, install water systems in Mayan Indian villages, live alone in a tent in the mountains and make art with juvenile offenders. It was in these diverse environments that she came face to face with saints, angels and dark spirits and learned to trust her psychic ability.
From her early secret encounters with spirits who guided and ultimately saved her life, Sherrie Dillard finally accepted that what made her different and odd, was also her greatest gift.
I’ve Never Met A Dead Person I Didn’t Like, is a powerful story for anyone who listens to - or doubts their own intuition and the presence of their loved ones on the other side. Even in our darkest hour, in the depths of loneliness and overwhelming challenges, divine guidance and miracles are always present.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. A beautifully written, eminently readable book. Sherrie Dillard writes in an easy, no frills style that just draws you in and warms your heart. I found this book very difficult to put down as I felt I was travelling alongside Sherrie on her psychic (and geographic) journey. I have never read anything else by this author before but I will now be seeking out her earlier books. ~ ANNE ROGERS (Reviewer), NetGalley
I could not put this inspirational memoir down. Sherrie Dillard's story should be heard. She has suffered abuse as well as personal growth. I can't wait to start reading her previous books. ~ Jill Long (Educator), NetGalley
This book is about Sherrie Dillard's voyage of discovery. From a childhood of abuse, through her discovery that she could speak with spirits, Sherrie lets us accompany her as she discovers herself and her powers. Sherrie is a gifted story teller who doesn't shy away from the darker elements of her life. This is a powerful telling of somebody coming to terms with being different and finding acceptance and love for who they are along the way. It will not be a story for everyone, it builds upon religion and spirituality, but even as an agnostic I found it compelling and moving. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how we discover ourselves, or to anyone who likes powerful biographies. ~ Terrie Knibb (Reviewer) , NetGalley

The author wrote a great account of the personal journey they embarked on. The honest and detailed writing made it easy for the reader to feel invested in their journey. ~ Cristie Underwood (Reviewer) , NetGalley
Sherrie Dillard did not have an easy childhood. In part this was due to traumatic abuse, but the other part was due to the fact she discovered she could communicate with spirits. On her own at seventeen and with no money to her name, she traveled across country while interacting with both the tangible world and the spirit world. From the Northeast of the United States to Mayan Indian villages, Dillard describes her experiences of being pulled towards situations thanks to interactions with the spirits, including interactions with saints and dark powers. Sherrie Dillard is now a renowned psychic and medium, but I’ve Never Met a Dead Person I Didn’t Like goes into the difficult path that lead her to her current position. Her voice is frank and direct, never shying away from her traumas or frustrations. ~ Victoria Irwin (Media) , NetGalley

I've Never Met A Dead Person I Didn't Like is the empowering story of how a broken girl came to accept her psychic gift and vocation. Dillard comes from a broken homes and had to learn from a young age how to care for herself. Left alone, she embarked on a journey that took her to help the poor and homeless both at home and abroad. All the way, dead people, spirits and angels were talking to her, helping her to develop her psychic abilities. Like many people in her situation, Dillard resisted them for a long time. .............. This is an emotional account of strength and resilient. If you're into this kind of thing, give it a read. ~ Giorgia Guazzarotti (Reviewer) , NetGalley
I really enjoyed this new book by Sherrie Dillard. It was refreshingly honest and fun to read! I was sad when it ended since I was thoroughly enjoying Sherrie's personal stories. I also appreciated getting to know the author on a more personal basis. It provided me insight to my own personal journey and struggles we all have when we are highly intuitive. I am in charge of our Senior School library and am looking for a diverse array of new books to furnish their shelves with and inspire our young people to read a wider and more diverse range of books as they move through the senior school. It is hard sometimes to find books that will grab the attention of young people as their time is short and we are competing against technology and online entertainments. This was a thought-provoking and well-written read that will appeal to young readers across the board. It had a really strong voice and a compelling narrative that I think would capture their attention and draw them in. It kept me engrossed and I think that it's so important that the books that we purchase for both our young people and our staff are appealing to as broad a range of readers as possible - as well as providing them with something a little 'different' that they might not have come across in school libraries before. This was a really enjoyable read and I will definitely be purchasing a copy for school so that our young people can enjoy it for themselves. A satisfying and well-crafted read that I keep thinking about long after closing its final page - and that definitely makes it a must-buy for me! I absolutely loved Sherrie Dillard's memoir and I couldn't stop reading it late into the night. Dillard's journey takes you to fascinating places that you couldn't imagine. She shares so much of her life with the reader in a truly relatable way. She's not too graphic like what's found in the latest flurry of "TMI memoirs" - her approach is just right. What a life! I'm thankful for books such as "I've Never Met A Dead Person I Didn't Like." This memoir illustrates how powerful the memoir genre can be when well written. The author's profound experiences and insights are truly worth sharing with the world. ~ Dyane Harwood, NetGalley
I have read all of Sherri Dillards books and each one has awakened a part of me in my mediumship. She has such a beautiful way of writing. Like all her other books, this book flows when you read it. The energy shifts as you turn the page, but the energy in the book flows through you. Its like you are walking next to her through her life as she tells her stories. This book lifted my spirits in knowing that I am not alone in my abilities in connecting with spirits and the dead. I, like Sherrie, am not scared of them. I find it comforting that they trust my intuition in seeing them and hearing their messages. Her stories in this book are beautiful. You feel her emotion as she describes her experiences and weather or not you believe in psychic mediums, you will feel her experiences and they will move you emotionally. The one thing I really appreciated about this book is it connects all her other books. I was able to recognize parts of this book that were stories mentioned in her other books and they all connected. It was amazing how this book, page by page, sewed her other books together. I can not wait till this is released so I can gift it to friends and recommend it to my clients. Thank you Sherrie, you are a beautiful soul. ~ Shanell Cleaveland, NetGalley
It's understandable that some people will be skeptical about Sherrie's experiences, but no one was more skeptical about them than Sherrie herself. She has written a lovely, personal and touching autobiography about a person who just wants to do good, be the best she can be and, most importantly, with a really strong desire to help others. There is nothing more admirable than this quality in a person, especially one who has had such a tough upbringing, and struggles which continued into adulthood. . You also need to understand that the messages arrive symbolically and in ways that are culturally appropriate for the receiver. ~ Dee Bee , NetGalley
This book is essentially a memoir of a psychic. It was interesting reading about her life, her struggles and her ultimate success in overcoming the issues she faced. Well written and easy to read you feel a connection to the author as she recounts the events of her life and can only admire her strength and determination as she faces her own unique events. ~ Mark Hetherington , NetGalley

Publication date is set for 26 July 2019—01 August 2019. (Paperback: 200 pages.) Format: Kindle ebook. 5 Stars. Enthralling memoir that fascinates, inspires and instructs. I truly enjoyed reading about the author’s hard-won journey to mediumship, her years of service, her connections with the Mayans, and her strong spiritual bond with Mother Mary. Likewise I felt it amazing that the author was able to heal from the shocking and distressing events which she has recounted here. She is a true spiritual warrior. Highly recommend. ~ Producervan in Cornville, AZ from New Orleans & L.A., NetGalley
This revealing book exposes Sherrie Dillard as the powerful woman, loving humanitarian, and divine light that her readers have always known her to be. ~ Matt Wolf, author of A Skeptic in a Psychic Life
It's understandable that some people will be skeptical about Sherrie's experiences, but no one was more skeptical about them than Sherrie herself. She has written a lovely, personal and touching autobiography about a person who just wants to do good, be the best she can be and, most importantly, with a really strong desire to help others. There is nothing more admirable than this quality in a person, especially one who has had such a tough upbringing, and struggles which continued into adulthood. Those who take issue with her psychic side need to understand that these abilities are unpredictable and often unwanted. You also need to understand that the messages arrive symbolically and in ways that are culturally appropriate for the receiver. See Jung's work on the collective unconscious through to the work of modern science on the primacy of consciousness. With any luck some of Sherrie's infectious positivity might rub off on the doubters and they'll have a closer look at the nature of mind, especially their own. ~ Dee Bee , NetGalley
I’ve Never Met a Dead Person I Didn’t Like is a matter-of-fact and unsensationalized account of the extraordinary: Sherrie Dillard’s lifelong relationship with spirits and her experiences in the spirit realm. Her journey in this gripping memoir begins in a childhood whose difficulties are compounded by a parade of spirit visitations and arcs into adulthood toward full acceptance of her gifts as a psychic. As she puts one foot fearlessly in front of the next, Sherrie takes her reader on a twisting, fascinating path from a church farm in Western Massachusetts to a yacht club in the Florida Keys to a soup kitchen in San Jose, California and to the Mayan ruins of Palenque in southern Mexico. All along the way she is confronted by damaged adults, people in need, friends, spirits, angels, Mother Mary and helpful guides. Her descriptions are vivid, and the writing brims with frank emotion. Her story is sure to illuminate the path for budding psychics struggling with their gifts. For others - like myself, a non-psychic - her story has inspired me to confront my own life truths as fiercely as Sherrie has faced hers. ~ Julie Tetel Andresen, Professor in the English department, Duke University, linguist and novelist
