I found this book very difficult to put down as I felt I was travelling alongside Sherrie on her psychic (and geographic) journey. This book is about Sherrie Dillard's voyage of discovery. From a childhood of abuse, through her discovery that she could speak with spirits, Sherrie lets us accompany her as she discovers herself and her powers. Sherrie is a gifted story teller who doesn't shy away from the darker elements of her life. This is a powerful telling of somebody coming to terms with being different and finding acceptance and love for who they are along the way. It will not be a story for everyone, it builds upon religion and spirituality, but even as an agnostic I found it compelling and moving. I really enjoyed this new book by Sherrie Dillard. It was refreshingly honest and fun to read! I was sad when it ended since I was thoroughly enjoying Sherrie's personal stories. I also appreciated getting to know the author on a more personal basis. It provided me insight to my own personal journey and struggles we all have when we are highly intuitive. I am in charge of our Senior School library and am looking for a diverse array of new books to furnish their shelves with and inspire our young people to read a wider and more diverse range of books as they move through the senior school. It is hard sometimes to find books that will grab the attention of young people as their time is short and we are competing against technology and online entertainments. This was a thought-provoking and well-written read that will appeal to young readers across the board. It had a really strong voice and a compelling narrative that I think would capture their attention and draw them in. It kept me engrossed and I think that it's so important that the books that we purchase for both our young people and our staff are appealing to as broad a range of readers as possible - as well as providing them with something a little 'different' that they might not have come across in school libraries before.This was a really enjoyable read and I will definitely be purchasing a copy for school so that our young people can enjoy it for themselves. A satisfying and well-crafted read that I keep thinking about long after closing its final page - and that definitely makes it a must-buy for me! I absolutely loved Sherrie Dillard's memoir and I couldn't stop reading it late into the night. Dillard's journey takes you to fascinating places that you couldn't imagine. She shares so much of her life with the reader in a truly relatable way. She's not too graphic like what's found in the latest flurry of "TMI memoirs" - her approach is just right. What a life! I'm thankful for books such as "I've Never Met A Dead Person I Didn't Like." This memoir illustrates how powerful the memoir genre can be when well written. I have read all of Sherri Dillards books and each one has awakened a part of me in my mediumship. She has such a beautiful way of writing. Like all her other books, this book flows when you read it. The energy shifts as you turn the page, but the energy in the book flows through you. Its like you are walking next to her through her life as she tells her stories. This book lifted my spirits in knowing that I am not alone in my abilities in connecting with spirits and the dead. I, like Sherrie, am not scared of them. I find it comforting that they trust my intuition in seeing them and hearing their messages. Her stories in this book are beautiful. You feel her emotion as she describes her experiences and weather or not you believe in psychic mediums, you will feel her experiences and they will move you emotionally. The one thing I really appreciated about this book is it connects all her other books. I was able to recognize parts of this book that were stories mentioned in her other books and they all connected. It was amazing how this book, page by page, sewed her other books together.
