Scrying is the practice of looking into crystal balls, mirrors, water, fire, clouds and many other things to see visions, find messages and gain knowledge. It can be done for personal guidance, for inspiration, to find the answers to questions, to look at distant places or other realms, or for fortune-telling and prophecy. It is a form of divination that taps into our psychic senses and powers of intuition.
Pagan Portals - Scrying shows how anyone can learn to develop the necessary skills to scry in a variety of different ways.

Scrying is such an ancient and instantly recognisable form of divination, woven into our stories, culture, and various forms of spirituality and magic. Yet how many people actually understand how scrying works or how to use this skill effectively? That’s where Lucya’ Starza's book comes in, filling that gap deftly with practical information on a variety of types of scrying, tips on what to do with the images and information you glean from seeing, and importantly, how to develop psychic skills in order to hone your scrying abilities. Filled with wonderful historical facts, folklore snippets, and references to many favourite and familiar fictional pieces that manage to portray scrying in a surprisingly accurate way, this book is a delight to read from start to finish. A brilliant reference for anyone serious about scrying, and instantly accessible by anyone fascinated by magic, divination, or witchcraft. ~ Mabh Savage, author of A Modern Celt: Seeking the Ancestors and Pagan Portals: Celtic Witchcraft
Pagan Portals-Scrying: Divination using crystal balls, mirrors, water, flame and smoke is a practical guide for anyone who wishes to learn the art of scrying. From my own experience and many others who have practiced over the years, each everyone’s approach to scrying varies according to which method a person may use. Moon phase, time of day, environment are factors among others that can affect results. Lucya takes all of this into account, exploring the different modes of scrying and how to connect to the energies necessary for successful scrying. Her approach on any tools needed is very much like my own in that expensive devices do not always equal better results. What can be found in secondhand stores or around the home can gain greater result, while not putting a strain on finances. At the end of the book there is a useful section on problem solving and frequently asked questions for those who get a little stuck or disheartened. Worth the read. ~ Martha Gray, author of Pagan Portals - Grimalkyn: The Witch's Cat
A new book from Lucya Starza is always a treat and well worth checking out! I sometimes wonder how early human beings discovered scrying. Did they gaze at a lake or stare at a fire? The language of our Universe is patterning and scrying is the art of reading those patterns, based on the interconnectedness of all things. I highly recommend this timely book to anyone who is eager to study (and try!) this ancient art. It's a fascinating practice for the uncertain times we live in! ~ Imelda Almqvist, international teacher and author of three books including Sacred Art: A Hollow Bone for Spirit and Medicine of the Imagination: Dwell
