Rachel Patterson always delivers when she brings out a new book and Dragon Magic was no exception. Packed full of information easily understood by beginner or experienced practitioner. I love that Rachel gives it her all with every book, she delves into historical facts, beliefs, and local myths to bring each book to life. Rachel does her research and delivers a powerhouse of information each and every time. Don't hesitate to add this book to your collection! ~ Rosemary, Amazon
Another amazing book by Rachel Patterson! ~ Roxanna Woodard, Amazon
I've been waiting for this book and was so excited when the release date arrived! Another fabulous book from Rachel - this subject very close to her heart and it tied in nicely with this year being Year of the Dragon. A huge amount of information on dragon stories, myths and legends followed by a section or two that no book by Rachel would be without - how to connect with dragon energy, how to work with dragon and hopefully, you may even have one that will be your guardian! I worked with dragon as part of my Kitchen Witch studies, but this book allowed me to dive further in to the world of dragon and it will be one that will be read often! 5 stars ***** ~ Vanessa A, Amazon
the blurb does not do justice to what this book is, because this is a volume about dragons which is more than a listing of their names and attributes from across the globe! In her usual approachable, down to earth writing style, Rachel gives us this and so much more. Divided into four sections, Part I: Dragon Beginnings, Part II: Myths, Legends and Stories, Part III: Dragonology, cover what can be found in most other resources. It is in Part IV: Dragon Magic, which actually takes up half the book where the fun really begins. Included here you discover what Dragon magic is, how to summon a Dragon through to mediations, altars, Dragon Candles, Spells, and so much more, right through to the Yogic practice of Dragon Breathing, Rachel has got it covered. Everyone from beginner to experienced practitioner, will find ideas presented in this book to enhance their relationship with Dragons and their magic. ~ Heather Dewhurst, Kitchen Witch blog
I have to admit, I've done a lot of exploring as I travel my pagan path, and I hadn't really given much thought to incorporating dragons into it. This book is a great starting point for anyone looking to start, or those, who like me, are simply curious. Where do I start - I've learned so much! There are so many different kinds of dragons, and I learned about some from stories, myths, and folklore that I wasn't aware of before. I loved getting to read Patterson's personal story woven in with everything, it really helped put everything in perspective as I went through the book from cover to cover. Now that I think about it, I've used dragon's blood ink, but never thought too much about the draconic connection there. The final section is about dragons, magic, and working with them, including crystals, meditations, and more. I highly recommend this, even if you're fairly experienced, it's a great reference book, and gives you an extensive bibliography should you want to dive deeper. ~ Lily, Amazon
Praise for Pagan Portal - Kitchen Witchcraft: I like this... it's light, friendly and good fun to read. One important facet of traditional Craft is the use of the kitchen and everyday implements to create magical goodies. I like the way the author brings the reader into the kitchen and makes the whole thing inclusive like having a cosy chat over the cauldron. A great addition to the Pagan Portals series. ~ Melusine Draco, author of numerous popular MBS books
