Body, mind & spirit (general), Paganism & neo-paganism
A Ceremony for Every Occasion has been written as a guide for Pagans and non-Pagans alike who wish to celebrate the passing of the seasons, the Wheel of the Year and who need a Rite of Passage for different times in their life. These rituals are spiritual, at the same time non-religious in the general accepted term. They can be adapted and used in different parts of the World and with different Deity, with a little work or simply used exactly as written.
This book is a practical, step by step guide, and contains a basic list of all the items needed to take along to a ritual site in order to perform the ceremonies. Each chapter has an introduction with points of interest about the season and the Deity associated.

A very gentle and simple introduction to modern Pagan rituals that are based upon the solar cycle of the year. Each are easy to follow and are simple in their construction, so being able to celebrate the Sabbats with a group of friends, makes for an easy and fun time. Siusaidh follows a tradition called ‘Druidcraft’ which is a fusion between the two traditions of Druidry and Wicca. ~ Kim Morgan, The Deosil Dance
Hi - I just thought I would drop you a line and say thank you - I have recently received your "Ritual For Every Occasion" book from Amazon and have found it very useful and it has given me many ideas for our own rituals over in this part of the UK. A wonderful resource which for a druid/general pagan group helps to blend the two different styles of ritual. ~ Sea Oak (The Druid Network), Via Facebook
If you are new to working with the Pagan Wheel of the Year and Rites of Passage, then this is the book for you. There is a brief introduction which is followed by a section on each festival. The history behind each festival is discussed then items needed for the ceremony are listed together with a list of people needed for the parts. The ceremonies vary in style but as a long time druid I found they resonated with me and also brought a freshness of ceremonial ideas. I especially loved the call to the quarters and directions. A lovely book to cherish and work through.

If you have ever had a go at writing a ritual for a pagan event, you will know that it isnt as easy as it might seem. You have to make sure it is appropriate for the time of year, the occasion being celebrated and the people taking part. It usually takes quite a bit of time and not a little creative inspiration to get it right. The easy option is to look for a ritual that someone else has already written, ready to use off the peg or with very little adaptation. The problem is there just arent enough collections of good, practical and simple to use pagan ceremonies easily available. A new book called A Ceremony for Every Occasion: The Pagan Wheel of the Year and Rites of Passagegoes a long way to plug the gap. Written by Siusaidh Ceanadach, who has run both Druid and Pagan groups, it is a compilation of the best open rituals she has put on over the years. The first section of the book covers celebrations for each of the pagan festivals over the course of the seasons from Imbolc to the Spring Equinox and through the summer and autumn on to Yule. The second part includes baby naming ceremonies, pagan weddings (known as handfastings), rites for burials and cremations and even words to say after the passing of a beloved pet. Publisher Moon Books says on its website: "One of the most comprehensive books on ritual and rites of passage available to date. They can be adapted and used in different parts of the world and with different deity, with a little work or simply used exactly as written." The book is very practical and easy to use, with step-by-step guides on what to do and even basic lists of all the items needed to take along to a ritual site in order to perform the ceremonies, including things like mobile phones and torches. The rituals themselves are also nice and simple - and not too long - so even relatively inexperienced pagans should have no trouble using them. If you prefer slightly longer rituals, they could be easily added to or adapted as required. They are intended to be put on by largish groups of people, but could be adapted for small groups if necessary.
~ Lucya, A Bad Witch's Blog - http://www.badwitch.co.ukA Ceremony for Every Occasion: The Pagan Wheel of the Year and Rites of Passage has as the title suggests a ceremony for every occasion. This is an excellent book for people who maybe are thinking of holding a ceremony for one of the turning points in the wheel of the year or maybe do a handfasting for a friend. Not only does it list each ceremony that can be tailored to your own needs you get an explanation of each season throughout the year and you also get a list of items that are needed to help during your ritual. So if you have never held a ritual but are thinking of holding one this little book will prove to be a valuable asset in guiding you as you plan your ritual. It is also a good book to read if you already hold rituals for the seasons as it is interesting to see how someone else does things. Clearly laid out with some nice artwork, down to earth and easy to follow.
~ Stormwatch, Amazon reviewI have been lucky to be able to preview this title. A great book. Really useful to anyone wanting to practice ceremony in their craft. It is particularly valuable for anyone just starting out on their path. The ceremonies have already been tried and tested by being practiced in a community. This means that even a complete beginner can go ahead with ease. I also really appreciated the rites of passage for pets, having, over the years, buried several dear companions. The ceremonies are adaptable so the book grows with you as you grow in experience. The step by step instructions are very clear and there are pictures to help you, as well as a list of items to bring or make, with instructions on how to make them. The book contains rituals for everything; rites of passage, the wheel of the year and the seasons. A really good buy.
