Fragile, empathic teen Delilah, who lost her mother at six years old, finds the world a tough place to be. After moving into a crumbling manor beside an ancient wild wood to care for her Great Aunt, who suffers from dementia, she makes true friends in the deadbeat town nearby - fierce dancer Mae and her boyfriend, easy-going barman Cal, and sweet librarian Milly. She also connects powerfully with sexy, troubled Tol. It's a fresh start, until she finds herself hounded by Tol's angry spirit, as he lies in a coma following a motorbike accident. Only the Green Witch of local legend can help her, and the race is on to find her, before Delilah is driven to insanity or death. But there's a far more ancient evil at large than Tol, and the Green Witch herself is not all she seems...

... if you have any understanding of magic, ancient folkloric and others things mystical, it is a tale that will be enjoyed. ~ Janet Mawdesley - Blue Wolf Reviews, https://bluewolf-reviews.com/books/new-age/green-witch/
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. Yes it was predictable in places, like it was really obvious who the green witch was going to be. But it was a really nice easy ready that had me needing to read on in some bits. I loved the characters too, I loved how Cal was the level headed one, even if he was wrong, and him and Mae spent most the books snogging, but they were teenagers in love and I enjoyed seeing the reality of what that looks like, while the friends were just there rolling their eyes. My favourite character was Millie though. I loved her and her energy. It may have only been middle grade but I would definitely recommend it. ~ Kimberley Morgan (Reviewer) , NetGalley
Within this paranormal novel, you will meet several spirits real and imagined. Delilah has never really found her true self nor does she have a direction in life. Losing her mom, and being forced to live her young life in a tough world, she now has to live in a crumbling manor beside an ancient wild wood to care for her aunt who has dementia. Meeting Mae, Milly, Cal, and Tol would change her life but in a typical way. Mar a fierce dancer, Cal a barman and Milly a librarian seem to mesh at first and then there is Tol. Dangerous, toxic, and hard for Delilah to resist. Connecting with Tol, joining them at a party, and what follows when alone with Tol will haunt her, take hold of her mind, and as she has an encounter with a dangerous owl in the forest, runs for her life as Tol tries to hurt her and in the end she finds the twisted tree and the dark forest. Toll has an accident and his spirit haunts her as if he’s alive as the author draws her and Milly in another direction when her aunt says: only the green which can help you. Where is this and how can they find her and does she really exist? Events move in many directions as Delilah and Milly explore and research the green witch and the dreams she has that cause her emotional changes and experience things that ask questions about what is real and what might be imagination or something else. Can she open herself up to understand the timeless state of one? What is the power of now? Finding herself remembering a scene with her mom and how Tol comes into play? The whole Tol spirit walking and controlling her dreams topic aside but at times she felt him near her and why didn’t his body spirit show up at times? Then deciding to revive her aunt’s urban garden and hire a staff to do it. Herbs and plants were her goals to research and hide from herself but she needed to assess herself and her situation. A community project Mae started and hoped her dad would agree to let her do. Relationships are new to Delilah and the author leads her back into the woods and relaxes until the fear returns. Tol was there but was he? Wanting to take her and knowing he wanted to kill her what she envisions sets her on a path she remembers and finds herself finally back in the manor but it’s not over yet. Then we hear Tol say if Delilah does come cone with him hell greater her friends as Millsy and her family are first with a fire taking their home. Who’s next and what will she do? When aunt edie dies suddenly her world changed as the hidden truth about who the Green Witch was and it’s passed to someone else. As Deliah remembers what was in her aunt’s journal: harmony, happiness, health, love, and peace. Her life would not be the same as a transformation takes place and now meeting James, bonding closer with her friends, and the scenes that follow are heart-stopping as dealing with the Soul Hunter who could take the shape and face of anyone, Tol is in a coma, Cal is hurt in a bike accident and Delilah had yo enter the dark forest and deal with the Otherworld but why? Author Kelly McKain lets what we experience in lucid dreams and other dreams as what is real and what is imagined. Just what lessons do they all learn? Who is the Green Witch? Will the Soul Hunter come after her again? What about the owl will it win? Pages 261-263 you have to read it for yourself as our Green Witch says: all life is forward And it’s all there waiting for you. so much life So much blue. Different, issues of change, acceptance, understanding, and hope plus trying to reflect on the many physical and spiritual changes and worlds the Green Witch has entered and is still to enter. ~ Fran Lewis - Just Reviews, https://tillie49.wordpress.com/2023/04/12/the-green-witch/
