Sema Dube
Sema Dube obtained her Bachelors in Economics from Marmara University; her Masters in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, from the State University of New York, Binghamton; and her Ph.D. in Finance, with a minor in Econometrics and Quantitative methods, from the George Washington University, Washington DC. She also has a graduate certificate in International Management from Istanbul University. She has worked as a foreign trade specialist at a bank; as finance manager and consultant for a manufacturing group involved with international trade; and during her graduate studies as an assistant at the Center for Emerging Markets at Binghamton, and as teaching and research assistant at three universities. She received full-tuition scholarships and a doctoral fellowship during her graduate studies. Sema worked as Assistant Professor of Finance at the SUNY Institute of Technology, NY, where she was director of a study abroad program, an advisor for course content development at other SUNY campuses, and was on the faculty consultant list for small businesses. She also served on various committees related to distance learning, placement advisory and committees related to research, learning assurance and AACSB accreditation. She helped set up the Finance Trading Lab. Her research interests include international markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financing and investment decisions. She has several publications in international journals, and serves as an ad-hoc referee, as an editorial board member, and as organizing committee member for international associations. She has also received several teaching, research and service related awards. She recently participated in the EU-LLP project "IS IT GREEN: Making information technology greener" where she helped develop the business case for energy auditing of ICT infrastructure in companies. Sema has been at Yeditepe University since 2007 where she helped set up the Finance Lab in the Faculty of Commerce and has been Vice Chair of the International Trade and Business Department since 2013.
