Making sense of the man without the miracles is the subtitle of this book and at first instance that may well put many people off, but they would be missing out on an incredibly deep and spiritual book with some amazing insights in it on the way that Jesus shows us how to live a life of deep love, caring and honesty - a life that with work we are all capable of living if we choose to see the lessons and see the person each of us is capable of being as God truly intended and as Jesus demonstrated. For traditional Christians this is not initially an easy book and there are at times likely to be moments of unease given the book is written by a practicing Quaker who admits to having a past as an agnostic and being interested in eastern religions, however it is this that caused him to look to the man Jesus and in so doing see the wonder and possibility offered by this person to us. Certainly a book for those looking for the man Jesus and interested in historical Jesus type study. This has a much more spiritual bent than an academic one in tone.
