Although a comparatively short book, some 148 pages, it contains a wealth of scholarship, quoting from many exalted sources in addition to the author's own challenging exposition. Whilst I was more than a little out of my depth, I found it fascination to apddle in the shallows and felt I had gained some valuable insights. The author continues his clever deconstruction of what he refers to as "the sky God" - the traditional view of God as some sort of celestial form of a human being, "up there" and looking down on us. He takes it one step further than in his previous books by claiming that God is not a separate being who has power over us and what happens to us, but rather "God" is the energy which makes up the Universe, and this energy forms a "field" all around us which can be tapped into.
