Stephanie J. Miller
Stephanie J. Miller is the founder of Zero Waste in DC, a company providing zero waste household consultations and advocacy through corporate and community presentations. She is also a board member of Margaret McNamara Education Grants (a non-profit focused on educational grants to women from developing countries) and incoming board member of Nachtigal, a hydro power company in Cameroon.
Previously, she spent her career in international development and was a leading voice on climate change at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank. At IFC, she led teams in finding innovative solutions to climate change and other development challenges in emerging markets. She and her team coined the term "climate-smart" investments and drove a growth strategy that brought IFC's climate investments to record levels of $2.5 billion per year. She has authored a White Paper entitled "Tackling Global Warming by Creating Markets for Climate Business;" and been interviewed with CNNMoney Switzerland on green bonds.
