Diana Richardson is known as the pioneer of the Slow Sex movement and, along with her partner, Michael Richardson, is the creator of the life-changing weeklong Making Love Retreat, which they have been offering in Europe since 1995.

Diana was born in South Africa, where she completed a six year Law degree (BA.LLB) after finishing school. She then trained as a massage therapist and bodyworker in the UK and later in the USA, and is a teacher of holistic massage and deep tissue rebalancing. She has been engaged in the body and involved with bodywork for the last 35 years.

From 1985 onwards, while living in India she began a personal research and inquiry into the union of sex and meditation - the basis of tantra - an ancient body of knowledge originating in India.

She wrote her first book in 1996, published as The Love Keys in 1999, and then later republished as The Heart of Tantric Sex, a best seller. Since then has written a further 7 books on the tantric approach to love and sex. These are translated into German, Spanish, French, with certain books translated in Russian, Korean, Czech, and Estonian.

Two books, Tantric Sex for Men and Tantric Love: Feeling versus Emotion, are co-authored with her partner, Michael Richardson.

Diana has also co-authored a book for young adults with Wedy Doeleman in Holland, called Cooler Sex. As yet not published in English. German (title: Cooler Sex), French (title: Cool Sex) editions available.

Diana's most recent book, published in April 2018, Tantric Sex & Menopause - Practices for Spiritual and Sexual Renewal - is co-authored with Janet McGeever from Australia.

Diana is now based in Switzerland with Michael, where they continue to guide couples in the art of slow, conscious sex in their highly successful Making Love Retreats.

Diana was invited as Tedx speaker to Linz, Austria on February 10, 2018, where she gave a 17 minute talk encapsulating the essence of her approach. Uploaded onto Utube 2 April 2018.

Sometimes it's hard to define what you want even though you know !... When younger we tend to fall "in lust" and generally make our choices emotionally.. For some of us, particularly as we age and become wiser with our worldly experiences we define more what give us pleasure feelings come and go however true deep emotion combined with a whole of body experiences truly defines Tantric Love far beyond the usual sexual connection that comes with "normal' expectations and habits most of us have had since our youth... Shame some of us have had to wait until later years to discover this... Definitely worth a read

I've been a huge fan of Diana's work for years so you can imagine my excitement when I came across this latest addition to her formidable stable of Tantric sex handbooks.
For me, no one who writes as coherently or as authentically on the subject of conscious lovemaking and intimacy as Diana and her partner MIchael and this compact book is no exception.

Unlike many writers on Tantra I've come across in my years of exploration, they really 'walk their talk' and this latest offering is also peppered with real life scenarios and contributions by participants of their world renowned workshops. For me that lends additional credibility to the effectiveness of the ideas they advocate. The contributions are less like testimonials than genuine testaments to the work's effectiveness.

This small guide seems to fill in the gaps about what to do when emotion rears its ugly head in our intimate relationships... which it frequently does until one has cleaned out hurts and wounds from the past, so I've already recommended this book to clients who simply want to improve their communication skills, (although this book was obviously primarily written with couples and intimate partners in mind). Furthermore it describes perfectly the subtle differences between emotionality, over reaction and true feeling. It's a great support and supplement to the other books Diana and Michael have already written.

A not to be missed addition to anyone's library who is truly interested in a fulfilling relationship and conscious lovemaking as a doorway to heartfelt intimacy.

Much of this book is based upon wrong definitions of the words “feelings” and “emotions”… and from these wrong definitions, the book draws wrong conclusions. For the correct definitions of these words, one can search online for much more helpful articles on the distinctions between feelings and emotions, such as the good article on this topic, published by Psychology Today magazine.

I read this in a day and have recommended it and even just taught the concepts to close friends and family members nonstop since reading it. It is relevant for all relationships in your life not just sexual or intimate ones. It will be forever useful for anyone trying to maintain healthy interactions, harmony and balance in life. It is also a vital stepping stone towards experiencing the wonderful tantric and healthy sexual relationships we desire.

There are not many books that explain the distinction between emotions and feelings, with emotions being a charge arsing from something in the past that is triggered by someone or something pressing a button, and feelings genuinely arising in the present. This book explains this quite well with a good check list to distinguish am emotion from a feeling.
Armaud Desjardins makes that distinction and I guess it is inherent in the third way self observation and in CBT but it is not a concept that is widely known and I think this book explains it well.

However I don't feel that the mechanisms for removing the emotions, which this book describes as feelings that were not expressed in the moment, are very robust and don't really release the charge that is trapped in the body.

For that I think Energy psychology or EFT is far more effective and recommend that having read this book you read the Promise of Energy psychology to remove the trapped energy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely one of the best books on self development.

I came across this book accidentally when going through a rough period in my personal relationship. I read the book straight away and was amazed by the easiness with which the subject was presented and how effective it was. The difference between feelings and emotions is huge and essential in understanding when one finds him/herself in the emotional turmoil. Tantric Love Feeling vs Emotion is definitely the most outstanding book I have read on self development in the past years. I believe that every person who is engaged in self development, should read this book at least once and have it in their personal library.

Amazing ideas, supremely helpful for your skill in relationships and overall emotional intelligence. Even if you don’t think your partner would be ‘on board’ with the ideas, you can still demonstrate them and with patience, your partner will learn what you are doing and come to respect the process. Beautiful Book. I understand my own behaviour better now.

This book is excellent, teaching me to differentiate between my old baggage and assumptions and genuine feelings which are pure and not affected by past assumptions. It is beautifully written and very easy to digest. I highly recommend it as a tool to developing emotional intelligence.
