Kevin Annett's book Unrepentant is one of the best books I have ever read. This book shook the very core of my soul and caused me both tears and laughter. I think that Kevin and all the victims of Canada's genocide are the purest of our human race. I strive to live by their example, I wonder if I will ever be that brave? Kevin thank you for your honesty and your unwavering determination to give a voice to all the victims. However I must say that the only way to be rid of these corrupt institutions is to stop being a part of it. Countries, governments, religions, world organizations like the UN are all corrupt. They are satanists and will never acknowledge their evil deeds or their victims. World genocide had been occurring for centuries and continues to this day, for example the Palestinian people in Gaza. The only way to free oneself is to stop participating in it. Without the many they are nothing.

It is true, "the emperor has no clothes"... and it is a sad tribute to institutions who have throughout their history exploited, used, abused, and destroyed those who were deemed "undesirables" in their tainted eyes of judgment... who raped and ravaged entire civilizations of people who lived closely to Earth and respected her with their every breath in their traditions and devotion. There can be no doubt in anyone's mind about the abuses revealed in Kevin Annett's book, once read. Sometimes knowing causes great pain ~ but TRUTH is far better than rose colored glasses that hide what only those on the inside of oppression know first hand. At long last the truth is out in the open for everyone to see. The light is finally shining in upon the darkness, exposing it for what it truly is....and a few more bricks crumble as Kevin Annett kicks out the foundation of an empire that has ruled and preyed upon its people mercilessly!

"Unrepentant: Disrobing The Emperor," by Reverend Kevin Annett, with an introduction by Dr. Kurt Kaltreider of Ashland, Oregon. In this David/Goliath epic story, Reverend Annett, a defrocked United Church of Canada minister, describes the widespread atrocities that occurred in 141 native residential schools and the unexplained death of over 50,000 children over a 120-year history. The last school was closed in 1996.

The announcement follows recent worldwide media attention focused on child abuse, trafficking and international cover-up by religious and government organizations.

In 1992 in a small Vancouver Island community, Reverend Annett discovered a long history of rape, sodomy and murder in a local "school" run by his employer, the United Church of Canada. His further research documented a century-old pattern of similar widespread abuse by all three major Canadian church organizations. Under federal government mandate, hundreds of thousands of native children were
forcibly separated from their parents by the RCMP, delivered to the care of
these "schools," and subjected to a culture of inhumane treatment that in more subtle form continues in contemporary Canada. The same pattern - on an even larger scale - has existed in the United States.

Refusing to remain silent, Annett was first fired from his position as minister
and then defrocked in a "trial" by the United Church, the only instance of its kind in Canadian history. Alone against the forces of church and state Annett, as a skid-row minister, broadcaster, author and film-maker, has lectured widely in North America and Europe, an advocate for international recognition and justice for aboriginal people.

After years of indifference and ostracism in his own country, Kevin Annett has gained recognition internationally. He has written, directed and produced a documentary film, "Unrepentant," which won "Best Director" at the New York Independent Film Festival in 2006. The following year it was awarded "Best Foreign Film" at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, followed in 2009 by the "Best Feature Film" award at the Canadian Native Film Festival in Edmonton. He has lectured widely at universities from McGill and Toronto to Berkeley and from the University of Chicago and Syracuse to Boston College, and to anthropological and historical societies, humanist, native and community groups in Ireland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Belgium and the UK.

Recently, he delivered a major lecture to the Philosophical Society at the University College of Cork, one of the oldest and largest academic societies in Europe. Winning the debate, resolved "that the Pope is not immune from arrest or fallibility," in which he argued in the affirmative, Annett faced as opponent a Vatican lawyer.

"Disrobing The Emperor" is the story of one man's fight for truth, but in a
broader sense, it points hopefully toward a better world for all nations and
their indigenous people.

5.0 out of 5 stars apply them accordingly to your own personal situation and use that wisdom to do great things for you and others
Reviewed in Canada on March 14, 2017
A shocking story that is still hard to swallow, even after reading this book plus many other sources of info, such as interviews Kevin has done on The Secret Teaching radio show. We must each make a choice once we discover these types of revelations, ignore and conform or try and help facilitate the change we need, the change we must each be a part of. He has taken on the duty to show us the issues, the true issues not those fake tv issues that dont matter. this is a fight for humanity and it starts with information such as in this book. it is our duty to use that information to right the wrongs that are ever more building up each passing week.

take responsibility for your own life, find the truths and information necessary for growth, apply them accordingly to your own personal situation and use that wisdom to do great things for you and others. that is self betterment, that is a/the reason for life(growth) and that is why we must help whistle blowers such as kevin.

thank you kevin

5.0 out of 5 stars American Indian's Last Stand
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 3, 2011
Canada is the land of cuddly liberal values struggling to protect itself from the crass excesses of USAmerican greed and militarism. That is the way that I used to think before I started to scratch the surface and be more selective in my reading and listening. I happened to drift into one of Kevin Annett's talks last year and found myself growing up very quickly and shedding a whole load of childish illusions. The book lays out the story in a very neat and engrossing form. We live, 'in interesting times' and this story of Canada's historic and ongoing genocide against the ancient tribal 'Indians' of North America is an essential lesson that we have to take in if we are going to grow up and take responsibility for ourselves and our history.
The most astonishing part of this story is the shameful role of the Christian churches in the deaths of many thousand of tribal children snatched from their parents and forced into horrific 'schools' which only have their parallel in the concentration camps of the 20th century; and then the meticulous, ruthless efficiency by which the Church prosecutes heretics and critics. The next, intriguing, questions raised by this story is, how and why did the religious people who staffed these schools succumb to evil or did their beliefs actually enable them to overcome their natural aversion to atrocity ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Repentant Review

Repentant is an excellent read. I really like the way that Kevin goes back and forth between the defrocking debacle and his awakening. You can hear his voice as you read. His journey and mission on this planet becomes so clear. It's hard to put down and the opening quote by Simon Wiesenthal, "Under a regime where murder is officially sanctioned, there can be no regret and no apology", totally explains the title and Kevin's purpose. Very inspiring. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone Should Read This Book

It doesn't feel right to click that I LOVED this book! The book is well written, flows well, but the shocking nature of its content makes it uncomfortable to express love for. Annett has been through hell to produce this information. He is still vilified all over the internet for his exposure of a horror that has, only this year in 2015, been officially acknowledged through the Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canada as fact, that as many as 50 000 First Nations children if not more were neglected to death or deliberately murdered by the Church & State Indian Residential Schools systems that stole them from their families! Although not mentioned in this book, one of the men who survived the Kamloops IRS in British Columbia & who spoke to Annett in detail about his experiences before his sudden death even claimed that the Queen & Prince Philip visited his school in 1964 from where they took 10 children on a picnic, none of whom were ever seen again. Google "The Testimony of William Coombes" & watch the youtube video Annett made also called "Unrepentant" which feature more of Coombes testimony.
