Bigfoot Singularity: A Novel Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

The most common explanation for the Bigfoot phenomena is that they are artificial life forms brought to Earth tens of thousands of years ago by aliens, designed to evolve and learn about the nature of the earth and its inhabitants. In Ron Meyer and Mark Reeder's gripping story, thousands of Bigfoot are poised to combine their knowledge and merge with the first genuine, human-made AGI machine. Over three days, in the primordial forest of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Bigfoot take an evolutionary leap...

I was pretty apprehensive to the idea that Bigfoot might not be from our planet before I pick up this book. However after reading I find the idea very interesting and can understand how if Bigfoot is real that there is a good chance that they are extraterrestrial. I would recommend this book to the most diehard Bigfoot fans as well as anybody looking for a fun quick read.

“Bigfoot Singularity” is fun to read. It provides an interesting and (at least within the confines of fiction) a plausible explanation of the Bigfoot phenomenon. Why have been there so many sightings but so little physical evidence? For example, why hasn’t anybody found a body? And despite the many sightings, why do so many people doubt their existence? You would think that given how few truly wild places there are left in North America and with so many people out looking you would think we’d have conclusively proved or disproved the existence of Bigfoot by now. Are they intelligent? Do they have language? Do they have families? Bigfoot answers these questions and more within a framework of a new-future thriller that hums along nicely and provides us with an interesting group of villains and engaging heroes we can root for. As part of the framework, the story also paints a portrait of a near-future where several intriguing technological possibilities have been realized, such as an invisible person-carrying drone and a global high-resolution surveillance system. Definitely worth reading if you're looking for a story that's enjoyable and thought-provoking and moves along at a good clip.

I don't have time to write a longer review, so I'll make it concise. There's a potentially interesting story with a brilliant premise. What if Bigfoot were bio-engineered, artificial general intelligence creatures of alien origin? It's a new and fresh take on the Sasquatch mythos.

The book starts well, with action, drama and cool sci-fi elements. Unfortunately, it falls short in the characterization department - characters are flat, redemption arcs are heavy-handed, unconvincing and unbelievable. There's plenty of repetition and even more of telling and that makes connecting with characters difficult.

Read it if you look for a fast-paced techno-thriller for your commute. Otherwise, your life won't be poorer if you skip it.

THE BIGFOOT SINGULARITY is an immensely exciting nonstop near future science fiction involving Bigfoot, Native American tribes, prehistory, Artificial Intelligence, and alien technology. I read it breathlessly.

I reviewed a digital ARC generously provided by the authors via NetGalley at no cost, obligation, or remuneration. I opted to review this title.

The plot races with wildfire speed. The prose flows like a flash-flood through Flagstaff. Diamond-bright research frames a technological and spiritual future that is only barely beyond current human horizons. Bigfoot Singularity, by Meyer and Reeder is a literary grand slam

The authors created a non-stop action thriller that made me forget about meals and sleep until I got to the last page.
